Obviously it’s “in Ole I trust” but very interesting squad selection from the boss today. Anthony Martial is hurt (according to MUTV) so that explains his absence.
It’s a very Mourinho team and looks to play a very Mourinho style. That makes sense. Burnley are a physical team and won’t see a lot of the ball, meaning United will need more creativity and maybe a little less pace in the team today. The team has proven against Arsenal and Tottenham that playing Mourinho-ball can work, if the players want to play for the manager.
At this point the jury is pretty much out on Andreas Perreira. He still has his defenders but for the most part he’s looked pretty meh during every chance he’s gotten.
I love the fact that their giving Ander Herrera a rest, but would like to see them come up with a way to get Nemanja Matic one too. Maybe throw James Garner on the bench instead of Fred just in case United jump out to a lead and you can give him a run out for Matic?
This one probably won’t be as thrilling as the previous games under Solskjaer, but unless United lay an egg, their winning streak should continue.
